Yoogane Myanmar Junction Maw Tin Branch Grand Opening and FREE TESTING – 30th Dec 2014
When I saw this Yoogane’s event one day, I already made up my mind that I was going… Since the first time I tried at the Pearl Condo branch, I’ve been waiting for the second time again, so I just couldn’t miss this kind of opportunity and event…Well, since it’s Free Tasting, it was even easier decision…:D I knew about Yoogane through an interview on one TV Channel, then I went to their Pearl Condo branch and tried, now again at Junction Mawtin branch…Here we go!

At this grand opening event, Yoogane treated all the guests with their famous Chicken Galbi (a stir fried dish mixed well with tender chicken pieces, fresh vegetables such as cabbages, potatoes and green onions, tteokbokki (korean soft rice cakes), and special Yoogane red sauce… The staff cooked all the food in front of the customers on a hot plate with gas stove and served it warm and fresh… The chicken mixed with Yoogane special sauce is especially very tender and delicious… It was a little bit spicy for me but the good taste was overwhelming… The vegetables were extremely fresh and their natural sweetness was a good match with the spicy chicken… In the middle of my chicken galbi meal, they brought in a rice bowl topped with little seaweed and some sauce… Then, they put all that rice into the frying pan and started stir frying together with the rest of chicken galbi and it became a fried rice with chicken galbi  The good thing about this dish is I saw very little oil was used to cook…

At the Pearl Condo branch, I tried Chicken Stew, which was a spicy dish mixed with vermicelli, chicken, and spicy broth… For vermicelli lovers, this dish is probably a smart choice at Yoogane… Another thing I tried was Egg Roll which is usually seen in many Korean dramas… Inside the egg roll were small bits of green onions and carrots, but the taste was just ordinary… At Yoogane, in addition to Chicken Galbi, you can get Seafood Galbi, Galbi Fried Rice, different tteokbokki dishes, and a good variety of cold and hot noodles…

Yoogane’s price range is definitely above average… Their signature dish, Chicken Galbi, is about 7800 Kyats to 11000 Kyats for one person’s portion… In terms of decoration, Yoogane has tried their best not to stand lower than nowadays new shops’…My favorite part of its decoration was the wall paintings that attracted me the first moment I came into the shop… All the staff were super friendly, and hardworking, along with the shop’s MD who was also running around and serving the customers, which I thought was very inspiring to observe… Now, I’m more familiar with Korean food and their dish names, so to all Korean food lovers, please go try at Yoogane for a different and new Korean dining experience…
(P.S. The only small problem was that everytime after my dinner there, my entire hair smells like food :D)
